upcycled nostalgic room…

This was created as part of one of my second year briefs where we started to develop our individual artistic identity through a creation of 5 quick experimental artworks in response to these 5 words social object, connection, material engagement, repetition and place. I chose to expand on the words social object and material engagement to create an immersive upcycled room based on the themes of nostalgia. Everything in the room was upcycled from chairs I collaged with old books, records I melted into bowls and shelves, a mirror of old toys , a table and shelves from wooden pallets and a whole load of crochet flowers and plants. you could take a seat at the table that had been painted in chalkboard paint and draw what ever you wanted on the top. I included some childhood favourite records to look trough and different books you could sit and read creating a vibrant immersive experience.
